The IP rating system defines resistance to dust and water.  At IP67 a unit must have complete resistance to dust (and therefore be fanless) and be able to resist submmersion in water *. 

In addition to the IP rating some devices confirm to military standard 810 which defines parameters for resistance to shock (single impact, i.e. drop) and vibration in addition to temperature and humidity ranges.
